The popular presenter made a return to the airwaves on Tuesday as she filled in for Louise Cantillon on Today FM, over a year after she left her show on 98FM
Suzanne Kane was overjoyed to return to radio on Tuesday, proudly saying “I can still do it” amid fears she had “fallen out of love” with broadcasting.
The much loved presenter is back on the airwaves this week, filling in for Louise Cantillon on Today FM.
This marks the first time Suzanne has hosted radio since leaving 98FM last year.
Taking to Instagram, the mum of three shared a video of her gearing up to go live on air in the Today FM studio.
Suzanne wrote: “I haven’t been in a radio studio in over a year. I worried I’d forgotten how to drive a desk, be on air, or worse, had I fallen out of love with it.
“What a start to the week, I can still do it and it still makes me feel fizzy ~ hallelujah.
“Thanks for all the love and messages. Grateful forever for the galhood.”
“Loved hearing you today,” one fan commented.
Another said: “Ahhhhh seeing your excitement made me so happy!”
“You are an absolute legend!! Delighted to seeya back behind the mic Suzanne,” a third shared.
While a fourth fan wrote: “Xongratulations Suzanne glad to hear you on the radio again so happy for you”.
Suzanne confirmed she was leaving her 98FM radio show, which she co-hosted with Brian Dowling, last June.
She told RSVP Magazine last summer: “Ultimately, all I wanted to do was have a happy environment and get on, and have everybody love what they’re doing, and that wasn’t the way it all panned out, which is really sad.
“I have no want in the world to annihilate anybody. I don’t like confrontation or conflict.
“I was standing up for myself, it was never about anybody else.
“My dad passed 20 years ago but he always taught me that you never get your point across when you shout.
“I’ve learned that you don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to be heard.”
At the time, Suzanne took comfort in the outpouring of support she received from listeners and social media followers who took the time to send a comforting message.
“Sometimes saying very little is all you need to say, and you move on to the next bit,” she told us.
“Also, for all the bad rap social media gets, the support I have gotten from women on Instagram has been incredible.
“It’s like a galhood of complete strangers that were sending me messages just to say, ‘I get it, I see you’. Working mums understand the struggle.”
