
In Karachi, on May 5, there is a slight fall in temperatures at Karachi, after the city recorded its hottest day of the year earlier this week, with temperatures climbing over 44°C, reflecting Karachi heatwave 2026 conditions. Daytime temperatures are now projected to be between 36 and 38 °C, which will offer some slight relief to people living in the metropolitan city.
Although the temperature is recorded to be lower, the levels of humidity (66-80 per cent) still pose severe discomfort. The conditions of weather will be much more comfortable, warm with the temperature of the real feel nearing 40 representation degree C to 45 degree C, reaching near peak afternoon temperature.
Health Authorities Continue Heatwave Warnings Across Karachi
Health officials are still on high alert as hospitals are still receiving heat-related emergency cases. It has been reported that there were at least 10 fatalities that were attributed to the ongoing heatwave, especially among the vulnerable members of the population and also among outdoor workers.
The health professionals have also advised residents not to be exposed to direct sunlight between the hours of 10 AM and 5 PM, take in more water, and wear loose and lightly colored clothing. Symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, dehydration, and severe headaches are being brought to light as significant red flags of heatstroke.
Loadshedding and Water Shortages Increase Public Discomfort
It has also strained the infrastructure of Karachi because of the harsh weather. Loadshedding has been commonly reported in several regions, with the quantity of air-conditioners and coolers being used greatly increasing electricity demand.
Neighbourhood water shortages have further increased the challenges to endure, even during the ongoing heatwave season. Heat-related illnesses remain on high alert by the hospitals and emergency centres.
PMD Warns Another Hot Spell May Arrive Soon
PMD has warned that another hot spell might affect Sindh, including Karachi, starting on May 7. It is now being predicted that there is little or no possibility of any rainfall in the next few days.
Sea breezes returning later in the evening are not expected to produce any long-term effect, but the authorities still insist on precautionary efforts until the problem extends to higher altitudes.
