Shri Guru Ram Rai (SGRR) University on Saturday honoured around 350 class X and XII from more than 30 schools across Dehradun at a Pratibha Samman Ceremony held at its Patelnagar campus.
The programme was organised jointly by the university and the student union of SGRR PG College. Chief guest Kuldeep Butola, vice chancellor K Pratapan and registrar Lokesh Gambhir inaugurated the event. Addressing the students, Butola said that students should choose their career paths carefully after class XII, keeping in mind their interests and abilities.
Pratapan spoke about the growing importance of skill-based education and encouraged students to focus on practical knowledge along with academics.
Gambhir said that recognising meritorious students encourages a positive environment towards education.
International rugby player Mehak Chauhan, student union president Balbir Kunwar and others also interacted with the students during the programme.
Students from schools including Social Vivekananda School, Swami Vivekananda School, GRD Niranjanpur, CNI, SGNP, SBN Academy, SRD Bahuguna School, Willfield School, The Himalayan International School, Saraswati Vidya Mandir and Philfort School were honoured at the event.
