There is one less trip to Carrigstown this week as RTÉ isn’t airing an episode of Fair City on Tuesday night, but normal service resumes on Thursday with plenty of more drama
There will be no episode of Fair City tonight (Tuesday May 5th).
It is the second week in a row where no episode of the long-running RTÉ soap opera will air on a Tuesday evening.
Fair City usually airs Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays but there are only three trips to Carrigstown this week due to some scheduling changes.
The scheduling change for Fair City is what is known as a “drop date”.
These changes normally come into force when there big events on TV such as important sporting fixtures, the Eurovision Song Contest, Christmas and other bank holidays throughout the year.
An episode of Reeling in the Years will air in place of Fair City on RTÉ One on Tuesday night.
Scotland’s Home of the Year will air on RTÉ2, while soap fans can tune into their daily fix of Emmerdale and Coronation Street over on Virgin Media One.
However, fans won’t have too long to wait for their next fix of drama in Carrigstown, as normal service resumes on Thursday, May 7th.
On Sunday night’s episode, JJ kept a separate plan hidden from both Carol and Ger as to how to get Detective Buckley off his case.
Georgie was annoyed at Lily over not splitting tips at work and told Gwen, while Fergal became increasingly annoyed at Melanie for not giving him any credit for his work.
Plus, Kira remained unimpressed at Orla going on a date with Lenny.
On Thursday’s trip to Carrigstown, JJ swerves Carol’s suspicion as he hides his true plan on the day of Buckley’s raid.
Lily tries to make it up to Georgie, but he’s frosty with her, Melanie is horrified when Fergal turns up at the smart office and Kira tells Orla she shouldn’t settle for Lenny.
