Vogue Williams admits she had a ‘breakdown’ on I’m A Celebrity but ITV didn’t air it

The popular presenter and podcaster took part in last year’s series of the hit TV show fronted by Ant and Dec, and admitted some unaired scenes showed her struggling

Vogue Williams has admitted she had a “breakdown” on I’m A Celebrity, but bosses never aired it.

The presenter and podcaster from Dublin was part of the star-studded line-up of last year’s series, which was won by YouTuber Angry Ginge.

Vogue, who recently announced she is expecting baby number four with husband Spencer Matthews, has now spoken about the hard parts of the experience.

She particularly struggled with the lack of sleep, which she says caused her to have a “mental breakdown”.

Vogue said: “The jungle was really hard. Like I’m so obsessed with sleep that when I arrived there I was quite jet lagged.

“It’s hard to get an old sleeping tablet in there because there’s a fire that goes on all night.”

Speaking with Katherine Ryan on the What’s My Age podcast, Vogue told of how the fire was so loud and frogs screamed all night.

She added: “And then I had a mental breakdown. They didn’t air it, which was nice, because I looked completely insane.

“It was all down to sleep and knowing how anxious I’d be if I didn’t sleep.

“Then eventually they gave me a sleeping tablet and then I was fine. I loved sleeping outside and I miss sleeping outside.”

Despite this, Vogue really enjoyed her I’m A Celebrity experience and was delighted she got the opportunity to take part.

She recently told RSVP Magazine: “So many more people come up to me that have watched it. It’s such a great show and it was really fun to be a part of.

“I think they’ve only had 300 people ever on it, so to be a part of that is amazing.

“I never thought I’d do it, so I’m actually so glad I got the opportunity. I made such great friends on it too, who I’m still in touch with.”

Vogue was aware she was on a TV show, but forgot about the cameras as she settled into jungle life.

“It’s in the middle of a jungle, but it is also a set,” she explained.

“When you get up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet, lights will come on and you might hear someone whisper, ‘Are you okay?’. But you do forget about the cameras.

“The producers are really nice, if something is said that someone doesn’t really want aired, you can go to them and say, ‘Listen, that was meant to be a really private thing’ and they’re really nice with things like that.

“It’s 24 hours a day, so I think I had a few resting bitch face shots – I had a really nice time, it’s just that I was filmed for 24 hours!”
