Federal prosecutors say the Pooh Shiesty dad case ties him to a shocking alleged kidnapping plot, but Lontrell Williams Sr. is pushing back and demanding proof.
In newly filed court documents obtained by TMZ, Williams Sr. opposes efforts to keep him behind bars before trial, arguing the government has not shown he poses a danger or that he played any role in the alleged crimes involving Gucci Mane. His legal team did not hold back, calling the evidence against him “profoundly underwhelming.”
The charges stem from an alleged January 10 incident at a recording studio in Texas. Authorities claim Pooh Shiesty, who was previously signed to Gucci Mane, attempted to force his way out of a contract. Prosecutors allege the situation escalated, with Gucci Mane being coerced into signing release documents at gunpoint.
According to the government, Williams Sr. helped facilitate the plan. They claim he traveled from Memphis to Dallas, booked the studio, printed the contract paperwork, and was present when the alleged kidnapping took place.
His defense disputes each of those claims. In the filing, Williams Sr. states he arrived in Dallas on December 29, 2025, to care for his son, describing him as ill at the time. He also argues that arranging studio bookings was routine for him and not evidence of criminal intent.
The defense further challenged the accusation that he printed the documents tied to the alleged contract release, stating prosecutors have not presented any direct evidence to support that claim.
A judge has not yet ruled on whether Williams Sr. will remain in custody or be released as the case moves forward. With both sides presenting sharply different narratives, the outcome may hinge on whether prosecutors can substantiate their claims in court.
