Security forces neutralize five terrorists in separate KP IBOs

Security forces have successfully neutralized five terrorists linked to the Indian-sponsored militant group Fitna-Al-Khwarij in two separate operations carried out on 7-8 May 2026 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation took place in Tank district, where an intelligence-based operation led by security forces resulted in a fierce gunfight.

Four terrorists were killed after an intense exchange of fire, as the forces effectively engaged their location.

The second operation was carried out in Dera Ismail Khan district, where another terrorist was neutralized in a similar fire exchange.

During both operations, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities within the region.

A sanitization operation is currently underway in the area to ensure that no other militants remain active.

The ongoing counter-terrorism campaign, in line with Pakistan’s “Azm e Istehkam” vision—approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—remains at full throttle, with the commitment to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.

Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan continue their relentless efforts to safeguard the nation’s security and stability.
