Spoilers ahead: James spots an opportunity to sabotage Holly but his plain is foiled, Jacinta is angry at Nikki and Gar is smitten after being introduced to nurse Tara
Rafferty has a PR set back on one of his new builds when the locals complain about the development on Sunday night’s Fair City.
When Rafferty blames Holly for not being on top of the press, James spots an opportunity.
Hayley tricks Holly into considering bribing the local journalist to lay off the story.
James leaves an envelope of cash with the journalist’s name on it sitting out, and tells Holly that Rafferty left it there.
James is stung when Holly doesn’t fall for the bait and sweet talks the journalist instead.
Holly exposes James’ plan to Emma and Rafferty.
James makes out that it was an honest mistake, insisting that he had bribed the same journalist in the past and thought it was the best course of action. Rafferty is unhappy but reluctantly agrees to meet with the residents to discuss, per Holly’s suggestion.
Holly warns James he made a huge mistake trying to play her.
James and Hayley are stunned when Emma reveals the trouble Holly had with Ian harassing her, and that she had to threaten to sue Rafferty to take it seriously.
Elsewhere in Carrigstown, an angry Jacinta ropes Sean in to cover in the Helping Hand when Nikki doesn’t turn up for her shift.
Jacinta is irritated when Nikki turns up late, but Sean admits he’s been enjoying the work.
Nikki is taken aback when a grumpy Jacinta snaps at her in work.
Nikki vents to Sean and Hughie about Jacinta’s bad attitude, but Sean suggests she’s probably just having a bad day.
Plus, Gar is smitten after an introduction to nurse Tara in Vinos.
Tara offers to check out a burn on his hand if he calls into the clinic.
When Tara gets gifted football match tickets in work, Max urges her to bring him.
Upon seeing her speaking with Gar, Max warns Tara that Gar doesn’t like football and she shouldn’t consider inviting him.
Dean is dismissive when Leo, Ray and Gar try to cheer him up after his failed Vinos purchase.
Doug comes back from a motivational retreat in the forest and encourages the men to face their fears.
Doug tells Dean to sing in public, and when he notices Gar eyeing up Tara, he challenges him to ask her out.
