Kolkata, May 15: The Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI), in collaboration with the Association of Professional Academic Institutions (APAI), successfully conducted a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in Kolkata on the theme “Strengthening Institutional Quality, Accreditation & Ranking Performance.”

The programme brought together academic leaders, faculty members, administrators, and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) teams from several leading higher education institutions across West Bengal. The initiative focused on enhancing institutional preparedness in quality assurance, accreditation systems, and national ranking frameworks.

Several distinguished personalities from the education sector attended the programme, including Taranjit Singh, President of APAI and Managing Director of JIS Group; P. Palanivel; H. Chaturvedi; Pushpati Nath Razdan; C. R. Muthukrishna; Naveen Goyal; Y. M. Jayaraj; Ashish Maheshwari; Narayanan Ramaswamy; and Neeraj Saxena.

During the sessions, experts discussed critical areas such as the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), ranking methodologies, and maintaining data accuracy and transparency in institutional submissions. Participants were also guided on developing strategic roadmaps to improve accreditation outcomes and institutional performance.

A dedicated session on data privacy, governance, and compliance in higher education highlighted the implications of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, focusing on institutional responsibilities, data security protocols, and risk management practices in the evolving digital education landscape.

The programme also aimed at strengthening the operational effectiveness of IQACs and encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange among participating institutions to align with national standards of quality and academic excellence.

Speaking on the occasion, Taranjit Singh said that the FDP reflected a continued commitment towards strengthening institutional quality frameworks in India and empowering institutions to meet evolving accreditation standards while improving their national and global standing.
