Entry of Animal Transport Vehicles Banned on Motorways Ahead of Eid Ul Adha

A complete ban has been imposed on the entry of vehicles carrying animals onto motorways.

According to a Central Region spokesperson, the decision has been taken to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic flow during Eidul Adha. Officials noted that overloaded and unfit vehicles have previously contributed to serious road accidents.

The spokesperson said that vehicles transporting animals will be diverted to alternative and safer routes. He added that such restrictions are necessary as similar vehicles have caused hazardous incidents on motorways in the past.

Meanwhile, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have been directed to establish checkpoints at motorway entry points to enforce the ban.

Authorities have also ordered strict action against illegal parking near cattle markets and motorway interchanges.

In addition, strict legal action will be taken against violations of traffic rules and loading regulations. Officials said the measure aims to reduce accidents and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow on motorways during the festive period.
