Cabinet Approves Integrated Vegetable Market at Aziz Nagar Near Hyderabad ORR | Telangana Tribune

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has approved the development of a massive integrated vegetable market at Aziz Nagar in Moinabad mandal on the outskirts of Hyderabad, as part of efforts to modernize agricultural trading infrastructure and reduce congestion at existing wholesale markets.

The decision was cleared during the recent State Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. According to reports, nearly 42 acres of land have been identified for the project near the Outer Ring Road (ORR), providing direct connectivity to major highways and western Hyderabad growth corridors.

Modern Wholesale Market Planned

The proposed integrated market is expected to include:

  • Large wholesale vegetable trading yards
  • Dedicated loading and unloading zones
  • Cold storage facilities
  • Warehousing infrastructure
  • Truck parking areas
  • Sorting and grading facilities
  • Internal road network and logistics support

Officials believe the new market will improve the movement of agricultural produce into Hyderabad while reducing transportation delays and post-harvest losses.

Why Aziz Nagar Was Selected

Government officials reportedly examined multiple locations before finalizing Aziz Nagar due to its strategic location near the ORR and fast-growing western Hyderabad region.

The area offers:

  • Excellent road connectivity
  • Easy access for farmers from multiple districts
  • Availability of large land parcels
  • Future expansion potential

Authorities expect the project to significantly ease pressure on Hyderabad’s existing wholesale vegetable markets, especially the congested Gudimalkapur market area.

Benefit for Farmers and Traders

The integrated market is expected to benefit farmers from districts surrounding Hyderabad, including:

  • Vikarabad
  • Chevella region
  • Sangareddy
  • Medak
  • Mahabubnagar region

Officials say the project could help farmers gain quicker access to urban buyers and wholesale traders while improving supply chain efficiency for perishable vegetables.

Boost for Western Hyderabad Growth Corridor

The announcement comes at a time when western Hyderabad and ORR-connected regions such as Aziz Nagar, Moinabad, Gandipet, Chevella, and Shankarpalli are witnessing rapid infrastructure and real estate growth.

Industry observers believe large infrastructure projects like the integrated vegetable market could further strengthen commercial activity and land demand in the surrounding areas.

The government is expected to begin detailed planning and infrastructure development processes in the coming months.
