An attempted armed robbery at a jewelry shop in Maharashtra’s Nashik district caused panic on Saturday when a group of unknown attackers opened fire and injured one person before fleeing.

The incident occurred in the Panchavati area on Hirawadi Road at Samruddhi Jewellers. Reports indicate that 5 to 6 men arrived on two motorcycles and entered the shop to carry out the robbery.
According to initial reports, the attackers were armed and threatened the people inside the store. During the incident, gunshots were fired, and one person was struck with the butt of a firearm, leaving him injured.
The victim was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors reported that he is currently in stable condition.
CCTV footage from the scene shows the suspects entering the jewelry shop while carrying weapons. The group conducts the attack within minutes before escaping.
After the incident, officials from Panchavati Police Station, senior officers, and a large police team arrived at Nashik location. A forensic team has also started collecting evidence from the site.
Police have initiated an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attackers. A citywide nakabandi, or security checkpoint operation, has been set up, with multiple teams working to track down and arrest the suspects.
Authorities said that efforts are ongoing to understand those involved and assured the public that the attackers would be caught soon.
