Botany teacher arrested in Pune for NEET paper leak

The teacher, Manisha Gurunath Mandhare, was taken into custody in Delhi after being questioned by the CBI. She was involved in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) process as an expert after being appointed by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

In April, she contacted NEET candidates through ManishaWagmare, an earlier arrested suspect from Pune. Mandhare provided coaching classes for these students at her home. She allegedly shared important questions from Botany and Zoology, which students noted down in their notebooks and marked in their textbooks. Many of these questions matched the actual NEET-UG exam held on May 3, according to the investigation.

Found some documents, laptops, bank statements, and mobile phones

The CBI searched six locations across the country in the last 24 hours. They seized incriminating documents, laptops, bank statements, and mobile phones. A detailed review of these items is ongoing.

So far, nine suspects arrested in this case come from Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Nasik, Pune, and Ahliyanagar. Five of them are in police custody for seven days, while two arrested from Pune are being transported to Delhi. The rest are still being questioned.

The CBI has discovered the sources behind the Chemistry and Biology paper leaks and identified the middlemen who connected with students.
