Authorities have issued a detailed traffic advisory in Islamabad ahead of the Marka-i-Haq event, warning of road closures, diversions, and heightened security measures across key areas of the federal capital.
Major Roads to Face Closures
According to officials, several important routes will remain closed or partially restricted, particularly around the Red Zone and adjoining sectors. Key arteries such as Srinagar Highway, Club Road, and parts of the Islamabad Expressway are expected to face intermittent or complete closures during the event.
Additionally, specific stretches within central sectors, including areas around G-5, G-6, and G-7, may remain inaccessible to regular traffic due to security arrangements.
Diversions and Alternate Routes
Traffic police have outlined alternative routes to ease congestion. Commuters traveling between Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been advised to use 9th Avenue, Margalla Road, and Murree Road as primary alternatives.
For those heading toward central Islamabad, diversions will redirect traffic away from sensitive zones toward sectors such as F-6, F-7, and G-7.
Heavy Traffic Restrictions
Entry of heavy vehicles into the capital will remain restricted, with long-route transport being diverted through motorways and alternate bypass routes outside the city.
Authorities have also indicated that public transport operations may face limitations in high-security areas.
Security Measures and Public Advisory
Strict security protocols will be in place, with checkpoints, restricted entry points, and monitoring across key locations. Citizens have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel toward the Red Zone and event venues to prevent delays and inconvenience.
Officials emphasized the importance of following traffic police instructions and staying updated through official channels for real-time developments.
Outlook
With large-scale arrangements in place, commuters are advised to plan their travel in advance, allow extra time for journeys, and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event.
