PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th May, 2026) A three-day skills festival commonly known as hunar mela started in Peshawar to highlight the ancient traditions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The festival, organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Tourism, Culture, Archaeology, and Museums, began at Nishtar Hall.
The event was inaugurated by Director General of the Tourism Authority, Shahid Khan.
According to Tourism Authority spokesperson, the festival features stalls of traditional handicrafts, food, beverages, and clothing.
Skilled artisans from different districts of the province are showcasing their work at the event.
The Hunar Mela also includes a play area for children, magic shows, quiz competitions, and many other activities. The festival features comedy skits, cooking competitions, and stalls offering traditional foods.
A drama promoting unity among all four provinces will also be presented during the festival.
On the first day of the festival, artists entertained audiences with humorous performances and comedy skits. The spokesperson added that entry to the three-day hunar mela, organized especially for women, is free.
