Samsung Finally Clarifies One UI 9 Beta Rollout Timeline

Samsung has clarified the rollout schedule for its first One UI 9 beta after its earlier English-language press release left the timeline unclear.

The company shared similar details in a Korean press release, but the footnotes included the specific rollout information.

First And Second Wave Countries

The One UI 9 beta will first arrive in South Korea, the US, the UK, Germany, Poland, and India. However, Samsung clarified that Poland and India will be part of the second wave. The beta program in those two countries will begin on May 26.

That leaves South Korea, the US, the UK, and Germany as the first wave markets.

How To Join

Users need a supported phone, access from a supported region, and registration through the Samsung Members app to join the beta program.

The current list of supported devices is limited to the Samsung Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Older devices will be added later.

The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23 series, and Galaxy Z foldables are currently receiving the stable One UI 8.5 update.

Galaxy Z Debut

Samsung also confirmed that One UI 9, based on Android 17, will debut with the next generation of Galaxy Z foldables.

The company has not announced a launch date for those devices. However, the last three Galaxy Z generations were announced in July, making a July launch likely.

Android 17 Context

Google Pixel devices have already been running Android 17 beta builds.

The stable Android 17 release is expected to be announced at Google I/O, scheduled for May 19 and May 20.
