A stone-pelting incident targeted the Poorva Express near Shankarpur railway station in Jharkhand. This incident caused panic among passengers and raised serious concerns about railway security. Reports say that stones placed near the railway tracks were thrown at the moving train as it passed through the station area.
There have been no reported injuries among passengers aboard the Purva Express. Despite the attack, the train continued its journey beyond the station. Initial reports suggest that some passengers from the 07051 Charlapalli-Raxaul Special Train were involved in the stone pelting.
The special train had been stuck at Shankarpur station for over one-and-a-half hours due to a technical issue, even though it wasn’t scheduled to stop there. Passengers said they repeatedly asked railway authorities for information about the delay but received no clear answers, which led to increasing frustration.
Passengers complain about lack of basic services
Travelers also claimed the train lacked basic facilities, including drinking water. Despite being a long-distance special service, it did not offer pantry services, which further angered passengers.
Eyewitnesses reported that the stone pelting started suddenly, causing panic among passengers in the Poorva Express coaches. Railway staff and other passengers tried to manage the situation as tensions rose briefly.
