
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Colombian Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio in New York, where the two sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors, including trade, investment, education, defence and culture.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the meeting focused on strengthening ties between Pakistan and Colombia, as both countries currently serve as members of the United Nations Security Council.
Dar appreciated Colombia’s principled stance on regional and international issues and reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to build stronger coordination with Colombia in multilateral forums, particularly at the United Nations.
The two foreign ministers also exchanged views on regional and global developments, including the situation in Palestine, and reiterated support for dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to the UN Charter and international law.
Both sides agreed to maintain regular high-level contacts and institutional engagement to further deepen bilateral relations between the two countries.
