Light to moderate rains kept temperatures below normal in various parts of the State even as the State Meteorological Centre yet again issued an orange alert regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by hail/lightning/gusty winds (40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph)/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday.
A yellow warning was also issued regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/gusty winds (40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph)/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in remaining mountainous districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/gusty winds (40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in the plains districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms/snowfall (at altitudes of 4,200 metres and above) are likely to occur at many places in the mountainous districts while light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in the plains districts.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky. Light rain/thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are likely to occur with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 32 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
