Met Éireann pinpoint which counties will get lots of sun and 25 degree temperatures


The national forecaster Met Éireann is forecasting high temperatures for next week, as sunny and hazy weather will dominate across the country – so break out the BBQ

Hot and sunny weather is finally on the way again – much to the delight of everyone who is sick of all the rain we have experienced.

Met Éireann are forecasting rising temperatures with warm or very warm conditions expected. High pressure will bring mostly dry and settled weather, but sea fog may occur in some areas.

As for today’s weather, it will be mild and cloudy to start with patches of mist and drizzle across the country.

While some hazy sunny spells will gradually develop, some showery rain will spread eastwards in the afternoon and evening, and this rain will be heavy in parts of Ulster but light and patchy elsewhere.

Temperature wise it will be fairly warm with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees generally, in moderate southerly breezes. However, it will be somewhat cooler for southern coastal areas, where sea-fog may occur.

Any remaining showers will die out early tonight with a dry and cloudy night expected. Mist and fog may set in, especially for southeast counties. Lowest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees, in just light southwest or variable breezes.

Saturday will be a dry day with warm sunny spells developing and moderate southwest breezes. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees are forecast across the country, though it will be a little cooler in some coastal fringes.

While most areas will remain dry and clear on Saturday night, cloud will continue to increase over northwest areas. Mist and fog patches will form towards morning in the southwest, with light or variable southerly breezes. Lowest temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees. Sunday will bring another warm day with spells of sunshine. Cloudier skies will remain over the northwest until the evening, when brighter spells will develop. Meanwhile, sea fog will persist for a time on southern coasts in the morning. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees, in just light southerly or variable breezes. Sunday night will be another clear and dry night with patches of mist, fog and sea fog forming towards morning. Temperatures will be mild, with lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in light or variable southerly breezes. Monday will have a bright start for most, but it will be cloudier for a time to the northwest. Mist and fog patches will linger in the morning before bright and sunny spells develop through the remainder of the day. Highest temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees in light variable breezes. Tuesday will start out mostly bright, however, mist and fog patches may linger in places for a time. Warm and sunny spells will become widespread across the day.
