PESHAWAR, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th May, 2026) Following the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, provincial government has finalized comprehensive and organized arrangements across province to ensure public safety, cleanliness, smooth traffic management, and provision of essential facilities during upcoming Eid-ul-Adha.
According to a statement issued by CM office on Sunday, all relevant departments including regional commissioners, deputy commissioners, police, Rescue 1122, health, livestock, and local government bodies have been placed on high alert to handle festive period effectively.
To maintain order and health standards, government has imposed a complete ban on illegal livestock markets, restricting trading strictly to approved locations. These designated major markets will be equipped with water, parking, proper lighting, and dedicated complaint cells.
Furthermore, authorities have been directed to strictly monitor transport fares, hoarding, and illegal profiteering, alongside conducting regular inspections of food outlets, bakeries, and hotels.
For public health safety, Livestock Department has been actively mobilized to vaccinate sacrificial animals and prevent spread of diseases.
Security and civic measures will be tightened with a zero tolerance policy against one wheeling, aerial firing, and traffic violations. At tourist destinations, local administrations will establish help desks, traffic management plans, and emergency facilities.
To coordinate these efforts smoothly, 24/7 control rooms are being set up in all districts, and healthcare institutions have been instructed to keep emergency, ambulance, and trauma services fully functional.
Finally, a specialized cleanliness campaign will be launched to ensure the timely and safe disposal of animal waste, complemented by a strict ban on illegal donations and unauthorized collection of animal hides.
