John Travolta Is a Beret Man Now – Go Fug Yourself

John Travolta attended Cannes with his daughter to promote a movie he directed, Propeller One-Way Night Coach, based on a children’s book he wrote in 1997. ALL of which was news to me, as the title sounds like an A.I.-named game that’s available in the app store.

Cannes gave Travolta a surprise honorary Palme d’Or at the premiere, moving him to tears. Happy tears, because at that point he would not yet have read the reviews. The Telegraph called it “like watching a toddler walk into a lamp post.” Then again, J.Trav is LIKELY aware that EW’s contemporaneous review of the book said: He calls it “a fable for all ages,” but there’s not a moral to be found in 42 pages of untrammeled, possibly unedited starry-eyedness. The book is based on the dreams that led Travolta to get his pilot’s license, and co-stars his daughter, who is apparently perfectly lovely in it. So that’s a nice coda, anyway.
