Temperatures will remain cooler than normal as blustery winds and widespread showers are on the cards across the country for the coming days – here’s everything to know
The summery weather may be put on hold as Met Eireann have forecast cooler than average temperatures and unsettled conditions.
Temperatures will fall to just three degrees in the coming days while showers and rain are expected in the coming week.
In their overview for the next few days, Met Eireann wrote: “Turning more changeable and a little more unsettled from midweek with a mix of sunshine and blustery showers. Continuing cool for this time of year.”

Sunday 10th May
Mostly dry today with sunny spells. Cloud will build from the northwest as the day goes on with isolated showers possible in western and northwestern coastal parts. Highest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees in light to moderate northerly winds.
Dry with clear spells for most at first tonight. Cloud in the northwest will continue to spread across the country overnight with well scattered showers mainly affecting Ulster and Connacht. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees in a mostly light northwesterly breeze.
Monday 11th May
Mainly cloudy to start tomorrow with scattered light showers, though it will brighten up through the day with more in the way of sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees, in a mostly light north to northwest breeze.
Largely dry with variable cloud and clear spells at first during the evening. Cloud will increase from the northwest overnight with patchy rain and drizzle following to northwestern parts by morning. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees in light to moderate westerly winds.
Tuesday 12th May
Cloud along with patchy rain and drizzle will continue to extend southeastwards through the morning, with brighter, breezier conditions and scattered showers following from the northwest. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds.
Showers in the northwest will spread southeastwards across the country overnight with some turning heavy. Breezy with moderate to fresh westerly winds and lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
Wednesday 13th May
Cool and blustery with sunny spells and showers, some turning heavy. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with a fresh and gusty northwesterly wind.
Thursday 14th May
Current indications show another cool, breezy day with showers. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds.

Generally changeable and somewhat unsettled conditions are likely to continue with temperatures continuing a little below average for the time of year.
