Gujarat Governor pledges buses and Trains Over Helicopters
In response to the PM seven appeals, which include cutting fuel consumption, using local products, and adopting natural farming, Governor has put the following measures in place at the Raj Bhavan.
The Governor has decided to stop all helicopter and air travel within Gujarat until the global oil situation stabilizes. Instead, he will use ST buses and trains for official state visits.
Country focused to save fuel amid war crisis
Even though he has Z+ security status, the Gujarat Governor has instructed that his convoy be trimmed to the fewest vehicles needed, significantly reducing fuel costs.
As Chancellor, the Governor has told all state university Vice-Chancellors to hold at least one “Combustion Engine-Free” day each week. On these days, students and faculty should use bicycles, electric vehicles, or public transportation.
The Governor also stressed the importance of cutting edible oil use by 10% and urged administrative staff to limit unnecessary vehicle use for government tasks.
