Spoilers ahead: Carol tries to apologise to Lorcan, Ray and Nora make a discovery about Dean’s financial situation, and Rafferty reacts to Holly’s decision to sue him
Carol tries to apologise to Lorcan on Friday night’s Fair City, telling him she was just worried he was looking for trouble where there is none.
An irked Lorcan accuses her of treating him like an idiot.
When Lorcan vents about Carol, Nora reminds him that Carol and JJ are just scared for him because of their own past relationships with people in trouble with the law, like Steo and Lorcan’s dad.
Lorcan apologises to JJ and Carol for being moody.
Meanwhile, Dean is taken aback when he sees his latest bank statement.
A concerned Leo asks Ray can they hold off a few weeks before charging him rent and Ray reluctantly agrees.
Ray is irked when he talks to Orla who comments that Dean must be doing well considering how busy Hot Pots is and as he’s doing extra work in Vinos.
Ray decides to check Dean’s bank statement letter and him and Nora are shocked to see Dean has over seventy grand in his account.
Elsewhere in Carrigstown, Emma urges Rafferty to try make amends with Holly.
Rafferty is irked when he hears Holly has hired a solicitor.
Orla is conflicted when Rafferty is callous about what Holly went through with Ian.
Emma and Orla conspire to get Rafferty to see sense.
The pair sit Rafferty down and emphasise how awful Ian and his workers were to Holly.
Claire agrees that he could be in real trouble for letting it go on, and Rafferty becomes pensive.
Rafferty and Claire offer Holly a permanent contract at his company and assure her that they are putting in new bullying policies.
Emma is taken aback when Rafferty announces that he also wants her to work as a consultant.
Claire and Rafferty are happy, although Emma points out Holly hasn’t signed a contract yet.
Plus, despite promising Ellie to fix things with Síofra, Alex makes things worse when he accidentally insults Síofra by implying she’s overqualified to be a barista due to her tech experience.
Síofra retorts that she doesn’t have to justify her work to him.
Ellie warns Alex to apologise to Síofra for implying her work at Brewzers was just a stop gap before her real career.
Alex apologises to Síofra, who softens and admits she became qualified in IT when all the tech layoffs began and has been struggling to find work.
Alex is delighted when Síofra gets him a job doing lighting for a gig that evening.
