Met Eireann says the weather will turn more unsettled and changeable with heavy showers.
Today (Monday May 11th) will start off cloudy but some sunny spells will develop in parts of the country as the day goes on.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: “A fair amount of cloud this morning but dry for most with just patchy light rain or drizzle in places. It will gradually turn drier and brighter from north with the best of the sunny spells for Ulster and Leinster.
“Highest temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees in light to moderate north to northwest breezes.
“Dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells for most early tonight. However, cloudier conditions will build from the northwest with patchy light rain and drizzle following for a time.
“Staying dry in southern parts until morning. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees in light to moderate west or northwest breezes.”
Tomorrow (Tuesday May 12th) will be mainly dry, but showers will hit parts of the country and turn heavy at night.
Met.ie says: “Largely cloudy at first tomorrow with patchy light rain and drizzle clearing southeastwards, becoming dry for most for the day with sunny spells developing. It will be cloudier though for Ulster with isolated showers, becoming more frequent during the evening.
“Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees generally, cooler in parts of the north and northwest, with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds developing, becoming strong at times later along Atlantic coasts.
“A mix of cloud and clear spells with scattered showers extending southwards, heavy at times in parts of the north and northeast [on Tuesday night].
“Parts of the south will stay dry. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh west to northwest winds, strong near Atlantic coasts.”
Wednesday (May 13) will be “a bright and breezy day with sunny spells and scattered showers, some of which will be heavy, particularly in the northeast. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty northwest winds, easing later.
“Scattered showers will ease early in the night, becoming mostly confined to the north and northwest with just isolated showers possible elsewhere. Cloud will build from the west through the night. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 9 degrees in mostly moderate northwest winds.”
Thursday (May 14) will be “largely cloudy with outbreaks of rain extending eastwards across the country. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in light to moderate west or northwest winds.”
