Tesco have issued a product safety notice for various Technika and Toshiba televisions due to the fuse in certain power cables not complying, potentially leading to a rare fire hazard.
The product notice was issued on May 5th for those who may have purchased products from batches produced in October 2025 and April 2026.
The notice states: “We’re issuing a product safety notice for specific batches of various Toshiba and Technika televisions purchased between October 2025 and April 2026 at Tesco Ireland, due to the fuse in certain power cables not complying with the relevant safety standards and, in the event of a failure in the electrical system, there is a rare possibility of a fire hazard.”
Specific serial numbers are affected. The serial number can be found on the rating plate at the back of the TV:

Toshiba 43” TVModel: 43LV2553DBSerial number: 29439012

Advising on what you should do if you have the affected batch, it says: “If you own a television with one of the affected serial numbers, please contact GlenDimplex Ireland Limited to arrange a modification.”
