SCR Proposes Three New MMTS Stations in Hyderabad; Yadadri to Get Connectivity Under Phase-II Project

The South Central Railway (SCR) has proposed the establishment of three new Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) stations in Hyderabad at Alwal, Anandbagh, and Moula Ali. Feasibility inspections at all three proposed locations have been completed, and detailed reports have been submitted to higher authorities for further approval. The move is expected to significantly improve suburban rail connectivity in the city and ease commuter travel across these densely populated areas. The proposed stations are part of ongoing efforts to expand the MMTS network and provide better public transport options to residents of Hyderabad and its surrounding regions.

In a related development, the Train Travellers Association has submitted a formal request to SCR urging the establishment of a new station called Rail Nilayam Station near Alugadda Bavi. The association has emphasized the need for improved rail connectivity in the area to serve the growing number of commuters. The proposal is currently under consideration by railway authorities, who are assessing the feasibility and potential benefits of adding this station to the existing network.

Meanwhile, the historic temple town of Yadadri is set to receive MMTS connectivity under the ambitious ₹430 crore MMTS Phase-II Secunderabad–Raigir project. The project will connect Yadadri through Charlapalli and Ghatkesar, providing devotees and residents with direct suburban rail access to the popular pilgrimage destination. This connectivity is expected to boost religious tourism and provide a convenient travel option for thousands of devotees who visit the Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple regularly.

The MMTS Phase-II project represents a major infrastructure investment aimed at expanding suburban rail services in Telangana. The Secunderabad–Raigir corridor will enhance connectivity between major residential and commercial hubs while reducing road traffic congestion. Railway officials have indicated that the project is progressing as planned, with construction and approval processes moving forward. The expansion of the MMTS network is part of a broader strategy to develop sustainable public transportation infrastructure across the state.
