Stray Dog Eats Leftovers in Hyderabad Airport Lounge


A video shows a stray dog climbing onto a table and eating leftover food at Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. This raised concerns on social media about cleanliness and hygiene at a major international travel hub.

 The clip, shared on X by Siraj Noorani, gained attention after it appeared to show the dog casually feeding on leftovers in a passenger seating area near the airport food court.

In the video, the stray dog stands on seating outside the food court, reaching up to eat leftover food from trays left on a table. Passengers nearby seemed mostly unfazed as the animal continued eating undisturbed.

Noorani wrote with the clip: “Dog Eating on Table at Shamshabad Airport. Conditions at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport exposed. Passengers were shocked to see a dog climbing onto a restaurant table and eating leftover food. This has sparked severe criticism over cleanliness at an international airport.” The management responded, assuring that such events would not happen again.

How does airport authorities react?

After the post, Hyderabad airport authorities publicly replied under the video, detailing measures they were taking to prevent similar incidents.

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, responding through its official X account, said: “Dear Siraj, as part of improved wildlife management measures, we are working closely with GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation), the designated authority for stray dog control. GHMC teams conduct regular drives within the airport grounds, and 21 stray dogs addressed since January 2026.”
