Align Technology, a leading global dental solutions company, has announced plans to invest ₹1,800 crore in Telangana to establish its first manufacturing facility in India. The proposed plant will be the company’s fourth manufacturing site worldwide and is set to create over 300 direct jobs in the coming years. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Jitse Marree, Senior Vice President of Align Technology, and Sarvesh Singh, CEO of Telangana Life Sciences, formalizing the investment commitment.
The new manufacturing facility is expected to become a significant global manufacturing and operations hub for the company. It will contribute substantially to Align Technology’s worldwide production capacity of nearly ten lakh unique clear aligner parts per day. The facility will utilize large-scale 3D printing, advanced manufacturing systems, and sophisticated digital technologies, adding strategic value to Telangana’s expanding MedTech and precision manufacturing ecosystem.
Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Telangana Minister for Information Technology, Electronics, Communications, Industries and Commerce, and Legislative Affairs, welcomed the investment decision. He stated that Align Technology’s choice to establish its India manufacturing presence in Telangana reflects growing global confidence in the state’s strengths across MedTech, life sciences, precision manufacturing, and healthcare innovation.
The Hyderabad facility is scheduled to commence operations in 2027. The new manufacturing plant will complement Align Technology’s existing presence in the city, which includes its Global Capability Center and the Align Innovation Centre. This expansion will further strengthen the company’s footprint in Hyderabad and enhance its operational capabilities in the region.
The investment is expected to accelerate Hyderabad’s emergence as a global hub for MedTech, precision healthcare manufacturing, and advanced engineering-driven industries. It reinforces the state’s reputation as a preferred destination for high-value global investments across life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology, and next-generation healthcare technologies.
Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu met with officials and members of Align Technology’s senior leadership team in Hyderabad to discuss the investment plans. The state government has been actively working to attract major investments in the healthcare and technology sectors, positioning Telangana as a key player in India’s growing MedTech industry.
