Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has proposed the widening and expansion of 22 major roads and traffic corridors across Greater Hyderabad as part of the Master Plan 2031.
The proposed road expansion plan aims to improve:
- Traffic flow
- Urban connectivity
- Future infrastructure planning
- Regional mobility
- Access to growing residential and commercial zones
According to HMDA, the proposed road widening works range from 24 meters to 60 meters in width depending on traffic demand, urban growth projections, and corridor importance.

HMDA has invited objections and suggestions from citizens, property owners, businesses, and stakeholders before finalizing the expansion proposals.
The authority stated that the widening proposals are part of long-term planning to address Hyderabad’s rapidly increasing vehicle population and urban expansion.
