The faculty members of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology have received a major relief with the approval granted for the payment of the pending 50 per cent arrears under the 7th Pay Commission. As per an official communication issued by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, a total amount of Rs 22.74 crore has been sanctioned for the payment of the arrears to the university’s faculty members.
The GBPUAT administration stated that the long-pending dues would be released soon, bringing relief to teachers who had been awaiting the payment for a considerable period of time.
Meanwhile, following the office memorandum issued by the State Government on May 18 regarding the remaining two per cent Dearness Allowance under the 7th Pay Commission, the vice-chancellor, Shivendra Kumar Kashyap has also approved extending the DA benefit to the university employees.
The faculty members and employees of the university described it as a significant financial relief for them.
