A man in Thamarakulam got the shock of his life when he found a 12-foot python inside his duck coop. He heard a scary hissing sound while going to feed the ducks. A snake volunteer, Harilal, later caught the massive snake.
Alappuzha: A family in Thamarakulam had a terrifying start to their day after finding a massive 12-foot-long python inside their duck coop. The incident happened at the home of Anubhavanam Venu in Nadiyavayal, Thamarakulam.
Yesterday morning, Venu went to feed his ducks, just like any other day. But this time, he heard a strange movement and a loud hissing sound coming from inside the coop. When he went to check, he was shocked to find the giant python. He immediately called for help. Harilal, a snake volunteer from Chunakkara, arrived at the scene and safely captured the reptile.
This isn’t the only such incident in Kerala recently. Just a few days ago in Konni, another huge python was found, this time coiled up on a car’s bonnet. This shocking event took place at the house of Samuelkutty in Muthupezhunkal, Kallumpurath. The family’s car was parked in the front yard.
Samuelkutty spotted the python early in the morning and quickly alerted the Forest Department’s Rapid Response Team (RRT). The Konni RRT team rushed to the spot and, after a lot of effort, managed to secure the snake safely.
Locals say this is becoming a worrying pattern. Just two days before this incident, another python was caught from a nearby house belonging to Sabu Thottal. People in the area, which is close to forest land, are now getting anxious as snakes are increasingly entering residential areas.
