Here’s the PSL 2026 Flop XI of the Tournament

This year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) had its fair share of big names and expensive signings who failed to justify expectations.

Here is a Flop XI made up of players who underperformed based on hype, price tag, role and overall output.

Saim Ayub

Pakistan’s “starboy” came into the season with huge expectations after a costly signing, but his returns did not match the hype. He scored 258 runs in 13 games and took 6 wickets, but his average and strike rate remained underwhelming for a player expected to lead from the front.

Mohammad Rizwan

Rizwan continued his poor PSL form from last season with Multan Sultans as he had one of the worst season both as captain and batter. Leading RawalPindiz, he lost 9 of their 10 matches, while Rizwan managed only 204 runs at an average of 20.40 and a strike rate of 116.57.

Salman Ali Agha

Pakistan’s T20 captain endured a disappointing campaign despite carrying national captaincy status into the tournament. He scored just 112 runs in 9 innings and never looked like the middle-order force Karachi Kings would have expected.

Daryl Mitchell

The Kiwi star was signed for a big amount but failed to make a serious impact. He produced only one notable fifty and offered very little with the ball across an underwhelming campaign.

Khawaja Nafay

The young wicketkeeper-batsman could not live up to his billing as a T20 specialist batter. He scored only 77 runs in 8 matches and failed to provide the spark Quetta Gladiators needed in the middle order.

Irfan Khan Niazi

The captain of Pakistan Shaheens’ Asia Cup team had a forgettable season with the bat. His 149 runs in 13 games were not enough for a player expected to play a more decisive role in crunch situations.

Mohammad Nawaz

The once-reliable all-rounder struggled to make an impact with either bat or ball. He finished with 6 wickets in 10 games and scored only 54 runs, making it a poor all-round return.

Abbas Afridi

Abbas Afridi had a few moments with the bat but did not deliver enough as a strike bowler. He managed only 8 wickets in 8 matches and never really looked like a consistent wicket-taking threat.

Mohammad Wasim Jr

Mohammad Wasim Jr had another underwhelming PSL season. He picked up 7 wickets in 10 matches and failed to provide the sharp edge Multan needed from one of their main pacers.

Usman Tariq

Usman Tariq entered the season with strong hype around his mystery spin, but batters handled him far more comfortably than expected. He took only 9 wickets in 10 games and did not dominate the way a specialist spinner should.

Haris Rauf

Haris Rauf’s season again fell below expectations for a senior fast bowler of his stature. He took 12 wickets in 9 matches, but his struggles in key death-over situations hurt Lahore Qalandars badly.
