Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that resolving public grievances in a timebound and satisfactory manner is a top priority of the State government. Officials should work with a sensitive approach to provide relief to the public. The CM said this while listening to issues raised by locals and public representatives at the Haldwani-Kathgodam circuit house during his visit to Nainital district on Sunday. He directed the officials concerned to ensured swift redressal of the issues raised by the public during the interaction.
According to officials, the major issues raised by the public included drinking water supply, the condition of rural roads, electricity supply and complaints related to irrigation. Dhami directed the Peyjal Nigam to arrange tankers and repair tubewells and handpumps considering the summer. Officials of the Public Works Department were instructed to take up work on making damaged link routes pothole-free. Similarly, the electricity officials were directed to ensure undisrupted electricity supply as per the roster. The CM stressed that any negligence in public interest works will result in the official concerned being held responsible. Cabinet minister Ram Singh Kaira, MLA Sarita Arya and district officials were also present on the occasion.
