Jennifer has defended Dancing With The Stars co-host Doireann who became the subject of controversy a few years ago due to working as an influencer while at 2FM

Jennifer Zamparelli has defended Doireann Garrihy after a “witch hunt” about her working as an influencer while at 2FM.
Doireann came under some controversy in recent years for making money on brand deals while in 2FM, including filming sponsored content in the RTE radio studios.
However, her Dancing With The Stars co-host believes that it was unfair that Doireann became the poster girl for the controversy over influencer deals in RTE.
“I didn’t like that, because there were other people at it, who weren’t female and who weren’t even getting a mention,” she said.
“So that seemed like a bit of a witch hunt. It wasn’t nice. But Doireann was well able for it.”
Back in 2024, Jennifer, Doireann and the 2 Johnnies departed the radio station within a similar period of time, but Jennifer told the Irish Sun that their exits weren’t linked.
“”We all left for completely different reasons. It was a weird time \u0097 all our contracts were up for negotiation. RTE were changing things and wanted staff (presenters) and wanted this and that.
“So we all really had to think long and hard. Where before that, we only wondered are they going to give me another contract?
“So it was just timing. Anyway, Doireann didn’t even leave, she just went on holidays, and came back in a couple of months.”
Jennifer also ruled out a return to the station.
“We did well talking about things and there was a place for it at the time, but 2fm needed to evolve and try something else,” she said.
“2fm are after a younger demographic now. They should be playing music, and telling people about gigs. I’m a 46-year-old woman, I don’t care about the latest bands.”
Looking ahead to next year, Jennifer added that she is “pretty sure” Doireann will be returning to Dancing With The Stars, after Laura Fox filled in for her on the most recent season during her maternity leave.
