LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th May, 2026) The special sanitation operation by the Clean Punjab Authority is going on in full swing across Lahore, while the staff’s holidays have also been canceled to make the sanitation arrangements more effective in view of Eid-ul-Azha.
According to the spokesperson, the sanitation staff is active in the field even on the holiday, while the salaries of more than 23,000 sanitation workers, drivers and support staff of the Clean Punjab Agency Lahore have been completed before Eid-ul-Azha.
Additional sanitation staff have been deployed at the city’s entry and exit routes, bus stands, lorry depots, commercial markets and public crowded places to improve the sanitation situation.
According to officials, the cleaning process is underway at more than 7,000 waste clearance points installed across the city, while door-to-door waste collection is also being done through loader rickshaws.
Director General of Suthra Punjab Authority Babar Sahib Din has said that the attendance of workers and regular tracking of vehicles is being ensured, while the workshop staff is performing duty in all three shifts to keep the operational machinery active during the cleaning operation.
According to the DG Punjab Suthra Authority, cleaning staff along with machinery are present in the cattle markets, while water is also being sprayed inside and around the markets through washer rickshaws and other vehicles.
He further said that special cleaning teams have been deployed in all union councils across the city for zero waste activities so that a clean environment can be provided to the citizens on the occasion of Eid.
