The long-running RTE soap has been affected by schedule changes for the last three weeks, much to the annoyance of some viewers
Fair City fans are fuming as the soap has been left out of RTE’s schedule for the third week in a row.
Tonight (Tuesday, May 12) marks the third consecutive Tuesday fans haven’t been able to watch the latest goings on in Carrigstown.
Fair City typically airs on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on RTE One and RTE Player.
However, sometimes only three episodes air a week, and one is missing in the schedule due to what is known as a “drop date”.
A drop date means something else is airing in its place and usually occurs around events such as Christmas, bank holidays, the Eurovision Song Contest or important sporting fixtures.
But given this is the third drop date in three weeks, some Fair City fans aren’t happy.
“Very annoying. I need my fix,” one viewer complained on Facebook.
“Not again,” said another.
“No, hurry back,” a third person added.
Fans of the long-running soap opera don’t have too long to wait as Fair City is back on screens on Thursday night.
Following on from the drama in Sunday night’s episode, JJ gets Lorcan to cover in the bookies.
Carol is unsure, and Lorcan becomes increasingly paranoid and fearful that someone could be casing the place or that an undercover Garda could be hovering.
Orla is delighted when Rafferty invites her for dinner, but his mood quickly changes as Rafferty is stunned to find out that Holly is suing him for damaging her professional reputation.
Plus, Alex frets when Siofra is left to open Brewzers on her own for the first time.
