The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has decided to expand its mineral sector by reopening the issuance of mining leases under a new policy facilitation framework seen by ProPakistani.
The move follows a key decision of the AJK cabinet aimed at unlocking the region’s mineral potential and promoting export-oriented mining projects.
The earlier restrictions on lease issuance have now been withdrawn, allowing fresh opportunities for investors.
The decision is expected to attract new domestic and foreign investment, especially in mineral exploration and extraction projects. It is also projected to create employment opportunities for local communities.
