A total of 110 patients received consultations from various specialists at a free health camp organised by the Uttarakhand Government Medical Faculty Association (AGMFU) at Sai Narayan Seva Dham in Shastrinagar. The camp provided essential medical services to migrant laborers, the poor and needy individuals in the community.
AGMFU president Dr Chandrashekhar said that a large number of migrant workers attended the camp, where high blood pressure and diabetes were the most common health issues identified. Patients suffering from cataracts were referred to government hospitals for free surgery. In total, 55 individuals underwent sugar and blood pressure tests and free medicines were distributed to 120 patients. Gynaecological consultations were also offered to address women’s health concerns.
AGMFU general secretary Dr Pavneesh said, “It’s a humbling and satisfying experience to serve those in need who, due to crowds and other reasons, cannot access specialist doctors. Our goal is to bring healthcare to the last person in society”.
Sai Narayan Seva Dham founder Harikishan Petwal praised AGMFU’s initiative for helping those in need of medical assistance.
