KP CM Soail Afridi launches Rs25 billion development projects in Mansehra

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi visited Mansehra on Wednesday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 12 major development projects worth Rs25 billion, aimed at improving public services and infrastructure in the district.

Among the initiatives is the Mansehra Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme, a mega project valued at Rs18.5 billion, along with the establishment of an Institute of Allied Health Sciences costing Rs2 billion. The chief minister also inaugurated and initiated work on the Ichhar Nala Dam project worth Rs1.8 billion and the upgradation of Thakra Stadium with an estimated cost of Rs1 billion.

Additional projects include the upgradation of BHU Sandesar, establishment of a Rescue Station in Pano Dheri and inauguration of a Degree College for Boys. The chief minister also laid the foundation stone for land provision for a Cath Lab and a cemetery.

Other schemes launched during the visit include Kotke Park, a water supply scheme for Mansehra, and the establishment of Tehsil Tanawol, all part of the broader development package.

Addressing the ceremony, the chief minister termed the projects a “gift” from the provincial government to the people of Mansehra, stating that these initiatives would bring tangible improvements in their daily lives.

He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring balanced and uniform development across all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “It is our responsibility to spend public funds on the welfare of the people,” Afridi said.

Highlighting ongoing reforms, he noted that “revolutionary measures” are being implemented in key sectors including clean drinking water, healthcare, education and sports. He added that special focus is being given to integrating remote and underdeveloped areas into the development mainstream.

Afridi assured that all projects are being executed with strict adherence to transparency, merit, and quality standards to ensure long-term benefits for the public.
