King Charles ‘delighted’ as Princess Eugenie is expecting her third child

Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, who tied the knot in 2018, already have two young sons, five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest, who are ‘very excited’ to welcome the new arrival this summer

Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are officially expecting their third child together.

The couple announced the news on social media, with Eugenie, 36, sharing a lovely photo of her two young sons, August and Ernest, holding a photo of a baby scan together. She wrote, “Baby Brooksbank due 2026!”

The photo was also shared on the Royal Family’s social media account, revealing that the new addition will be arriving in just a few months.

“Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer. August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.

“His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted with the news.”

The couple tied the knot in 2018, after getting engaged abroad earlier that year. They were together for seven years before that, after being introduced to each other by friends.

Their first child, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, was born on February 9, 2021, at the Portland Hospital in London. At birth, he was 11th in line to the throne, but is now 13th. He is named in part after his great-grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Eugenie gave birth to a second son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, on 30 May 2023. He is named after his great-great-great-grandfather, George V. Ernest was born 13th in line to the throne and is now 14th.

It has been a hectic year for the family after Eugenie’s father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, had his royal titles formally stripped, and he and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were instructed to vacate their home at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The announcement of these proceedings by his brother, King Charles, followed revelations that Andrew had been in contact with the late paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, despite claiming to have severed ties.

He has also received a formal invitation to testify before the US Congress about his knowledge of Epstein. Andrew has vehemently and consistently refuted any allegations of sexual misconduct involving underage individuals linked to Epstein.
