Chennai, May 4: In a dramatic turn in early counting trends across Tamil Nadu’s 234 Assembly constituencies, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has been pushed to third place. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has emerged as the frontrunner, leading in over 95 seats, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is ahead in around 65 seats. The DMK is trailing behind in roughly 55 seats, according to initial trends.
In a significant setback, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and several ministers are reported to be trailing in their respective constituencies. Officials, however, cautioned that these are early trends and the situation could change as counting progresses, particularly with EVM votes yet to fully reflect the final outcome.
