Whatsapp Username: WhatsApp is constantly rolling out new features for its users to make the chatting experience safer and easier than ever. Now, the company is rolling out a new Username feature that will allow people to communicate without revealing their mobile numbers. This feature will prove especially useful for those who want to maintain their privacy.
With the new update, users will be able to create a unique username for their account. This will eliminate the need to share their mobile number when communicating with strangers.
The other party will only be able to contact you using your username. However, your phone number will remain associated with your account to allow for essential functions like login and recovery, but this number will not be visible to others.
This feature is currently rolling out to some Android and iPhone users, and will gradually be rolled out to everyone in the future. If your app already has this feature, you can easily set your username.
To do this, first open WhatsApp on your smartphone and go to the app’s settings. Then, tap your profile name at the top. A new Username option will appear within the profile settings. After clicking on it, you’ll need to enter your desired username.
It’s important to note that usernames must be between 3 and 35 characters long. They must contain at least one letter, and only characters such as letters, numbers, periods, and underscores can be used.
Once you enter a name, WhatsApp will automatically check if that username is available. If it is, you just need to tap Save or Done and your new username will be ready.
