LAHORE: Adviser to the prime minister and Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan said the government is making every effort to provide relief to the common man in the upcoming budget, especially the salaried and underprivileged classes.
Rana Sanaullah was speaking to the media after offering Eid prayers at Public Script Chak 65 in Faisalabad.
He extended Eid greetings to all Muslim brothers and prayed that God bless Pakistan and the entire Islamic world on the holy occasion.
Budget proposals aimed at public relief
Sanaullah said the government is trying to include measures in the budget that will provide relief to people on a large scale.
He said special attention is being given to the oppressed, needy and salaried classes, adding that the economic team is working continuously to create facilities for the public.
He said the common man is facing inflation, while the whole world is going through difficult economic conditions due to the Iran-America war and wider security challenges.
The senator said the Punjab government has taken several steps to provide financial assistance to the common man. He said people in Punjab do not have to stand in queues or stretch their hands for help, as they are being provided their rights with dignity and respect at their doorsteps.
He described the Ramazan package as a living example of this approach and said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is taking many steps to financially support ordinary citizens.
Relief affected by war situation
Rana Sana said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had planned to provide a major relief package, but circumstances changed because of the war situation. He added that despite these challenges, relief is still being given and further efforts are being made in the budget to make the common man happy.
The senator said Pakistan and the current government saved the country from default. He admitted that there had been repeated shortcomings on their part, but said Pakistan had been trapped in the grip of the IMF.
Rana Sanaullah said friendly countries helped Pakistan, while the economic team is negotiating step by step to secure relief for the people.
Pakistan’s diplomatic role praised
He also said Pakistan’s leadership acted wisely, prudently and diplomatically during the war situation. He said Pakistan made a name for itself in the world through its diplomatic skills, and the world is now looking at Pakistan as a guardian and country of peace.
He said Pakistan’s efforts will help bring peace to the region and the world.
Sanaullah said the prime minister and the field marshal deserve congratulations for leading the nation with wisdom. He said their efforts created unity in the Islamic world at a time when the Muslim world was becoming confused.
He added that the current atmosphere of unity in the Muslim world is linked to the efforts of Pakistan’s leadership.
Remarks on Israel, Palestine, Abraham Accords
Rana Sanaullah said forces such as Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu want the Muslim world to fall into confusion. He said Pakistan stands with the Palestinians.
Referring to proposals from Arab countries, he said they were linked to recognizing Palestine under the Abraham Accords. He added that if Palestine is recognized in an agreement and the Palestinians also accept it, Pakistan will stand with them.
Iran praised for resistance and courage
Rana Sanaullah said Iran and the Iranian nation set an example of resistance, defence and courage in difficult circumstances. He described Iran as a strong and brave nation and said its defence in a difficult situation was a source of pride.
He added that the Iran-US war is coming to an end and Pakistan will also benefit from it, including through improvement in economic conditions and a reduction in inflation.
He also said Pakistan had not been able to benefit from the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline earlier, but now it would.
Sanaullah said terrorism is also taking place inside Pakistan and the nation must remain united against it. He said Afghanistan is behind terrorism and demanded that it should not become a tool of India.
He said terrorists enter from the border and carry out operations, adding that if Afghanistan secures the border, terrorism will end.
India accused of terrorism
Rana Sanaullah claimed that India had started terrorism in the name of “Sindoor Phase 2” and described two recent incidents as extremely sad and condemnable.
He said there is no bigger enemy of the country than those who become tools of such elements.
He also said Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies are fighting terrorism with courage, skill and professionalism. He said the Pakistan Army is fighting terrorists bravely, and the people of the country stand united against terrorism.
He expressed confidence that terrorists will be eliminated very soon and Pakistan will become a cradle of peace.
