The Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Service (UFES) controlled 12 fire incidents reported from different parts of the district in the past 24 hours. According to officials, seven fire calls were received at Dehradun fire station, three at Selaqui fire station and two at Vikasnagar fire station. Fire teams reached the spots and managed to control all the fires without any loss of life or major damage to property.
Officials said that incidents of fire increase during the summer season due to dry bushes, short circuits and forest fires. As soon as information about the incidents was received, fire tenders and response teams were immediately sent to the affected areas. Firefighters worked hard to bring all the situations under control in time.
The Dehradun chief fire officer Abhinav Tyagi said that all officers and fire personnel have been kept on 24-hour high alert during the fire season. He said the department’s main aim is to reduce response time and prevent damage to life and property.
