An Indian woman from Gujarat was shot and killed during a suspected robbery at a supermarket in the United States, confirmed by her family. The victim, Meghnaben Patel, was 45 years old and had worked at that Virginia supermarket for the last 10 years.
She came from Jantral village in the Visapur district of Mehsana. Her parents, Karsanbhai and Kapilaben Patel, live in Jantral.

Local police were quickly notified about the incident. They arrived at the scene, secured the area, and started an investigation. Special teams have also been assigned to catch the attacker.
CCTV footage shows a man wearing animal print pants and a grey jacket with his face covered entering a nearly empty store and approaching the counter. The video reveals the man talking to a woman across the counter.
What’s behind the murder?
Moments later, he puts his hands in his pockets, pulls out a gun, and shoots at her, as shown in the disturbing video. The woman died, and the attacker climbs over the counter and continues to shoot at her. He then jumps back, dropping some items on the floor, and exits the store the same way.
The woman is survived by her husband, Upendrabhai Patel, and her two children, daughter Nakshiben and son Smith.
