Chennai, May 18:
Sengottaiyan on Sunday launched a sharp attack on Edappadi K. Palaniswami, accusing him of weakening the AIADMK for personal political interests.
Addressing the media in Coimbatore, Sengottaiyan alleged that the party, founded by M. G. Ramachandran and later strengthened by former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, has lost its organisational strength under the current leadership. He criticised Palaniswami’s style of functioning, stating that it had eroded the party’s collective structure and decision-making process.
“Palaniswami appears to believe that he alone is sufficient for the party,” Sengottaiyan remarked, highlighting internal discontent within the AIADMK ranks.
On the delay in cabinet expansion, Sengottaiyan indicated that the process would take place shortly but made it clear that the final call rests with Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. Drawing a parallel with Jayalalithaa’s tenure, he noted that only a small group of ministers were initially appointed before gradual expansion.
