Actor Ayesha Omar has reacted to a fake quote attributed to her on social media, calling it “absolute rubbish” and urging people to verify sources before spreading false information online.
Several entertainment pages had been sharing a statement attributed to Omar which read, “Agar biwi sukoon na dey saky to shohar ke girlfriend mein koi haraj nahin [If wife cannot give peace, there is no harm in the husband having a girlfriend].”
“This is absolute rubbish. I would NEVER condone, think or say such an absurd thing. Cheating and extra marital affairs are a COMPLETE NO. Goes against every cell in my body. Please verify your sources. And refrain from making up false statements just to malign people,” she wrote on Instagram.
Ayesha Omar stands out as one of Pakistan’s most versatile and influential celebrities.
Known for her acting, singing and fashion presence, she has consistently pushed boundaries in the entertainment industry. Beyond her on screen success, Omar has become a style icon, often representing Pakistan on international platforms and red carpets.
Her work reflects a blend of modern creativity and cultural pride, inspiring younger audiences to embrace individuality.
Whether through her performances or her advocacy for wellness and self expression, Omar remains a prominent figure shaping contemporary Pakistani pop culture and expanding its global reach.
She also serves as both the lead actor and executive producer on Mera Lyari, a recently-released sports drama centred on women footballers from Karachi’s Lyari neighbourhood, directed by Abu Aleeha.
The film had its international premiere at the UK Asian Film Festival 2026 at the British Film Institute in London before releasing in Pakistani theatres on May 8. Omar plays a coach in the film and describes it as “a story of resilience, identity and the courage to rise, even when the odds are stacked against you”.
