How much Rory McIlory is worth as he earns a spot on official rich list

The Sunday Times has released its official rich list, featuring 350 of the UK’s richest people – golfer Rory McIlroy has been placed on this year’s 40 under 40 list.

Rory McIlroy has made The Sunday Times 40 Under 40 Rich List, which includes the biggest names in the industry such as Harry Styles, Dua Lipa and Tyson Fury.

Other names such as Sir Elton John, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Mick Jagger, Charlotte Tilbury and Sir Lewis Hamilton have been included in the overall Sunday Times Rich List, which has 350 entries.

Galway brothers Luke and Brian Comer have moved up the list for their property development company, Comer Group, which is now worth an estimated £946m (€1,086,088,410.00).

This list has been updated annually since 1989 with some of the biggest names in music, film, sport, finance and more making the list each year.

Irish sportsman Rory McIlroy made the 40 under 40 list, with an estimated wealth of £325m from sponsorships, as the only Irish figure to make the list.

This estimate is £65M higher than his final wealth estimate from last year.

Robert Watts, compiler of the Sunday Times Rich List, said in a statement: “For nearly 40 years, the Sunday Times Rich List has analysed the fortunes of Britain’s most affluent people. We believe understanding where wealth lies and where it is being accumulated is a vital part of a functioning democracy.

“Over the years our research has told us a lot about our country, charting the way a generation of largely self-made entrepreneurs overtook the old money of the landed gentry.

“This year’s edition shines a light on fortunes made from artificial intelligence, driverless cars and crypto-currencies as well as baby milk, make-up, hoodies and other everyday items. We know many of our readers find those rags-to-riches stories of entrepreneurs who started out with little more than a laptop and an idea particularly inspiring.”

Artificial Intelligence and Fashion dominated this list, with 11 fashion entrepreneurs making up the total 40.

ElevenLabs, an AI startup, is a synthetic voice developer now worth £8.1 billion, which has been backed by Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey
